Each month Spellbinder’s Paper Arts releases 10 monthly membership clubs designed for die cutting, cardmaking, stamping, stitching and more. You can pick and choose which clubs are the right fit for you, or you can get the entire set, or as they call it, the Deluxe Caboodle and get them all for a discounted price and also get a bonus gift each month.
As a Spellbinders affiliate, I receive three of these club kits each month – the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit, the Clear Stamp and Die Kit and the regular Embossing Folder kit. (I often times order several of the other kits as well, my favorites being the Large Die and Small Die of the month.)
The Glimmer Kit
The February Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month was called Spring Canopy . It’s a background image that covers half of an A2 card panel and can be used individually, or you can foil it twice and use it to make a background “frame” of arching spring leaves. This set also came with four foilable sentiments that celebrate the Spring and Easter season. If you received the Glimmer kit as part of a subscription, it also came with a roll of purple foil called Lavender Petal. (If you buy these glimmer plates outside of the subscription kit, the foil is not included but available separately on the Spellbinders web site.)
This is a gorgeous foil plate. I loved the look of it in the Lavender Petal foil too. I foiled it twice and used the included die to cut out each of the foiled pieces and attached them to my card base with pop up foam squares to give it a little bit of dimension. I chose the sentiment Enjoy the Beauty of Spring and foiled it in the same Lavender Petal foil. It’s a simple card but so pretty. Of course I had to add a few Color Essential Gems in Prism AB because it has a purple iridescent gleam that matches this foil color so well.

The Stamp and Die Club Kit plus Embossing Folder
The February Clear Stamp of the Month was called Spring Smiles and featured some super cute hand sketched images of two bunnies and two baby chicks as well as a few floral stems. These are easy to color using your favorite coloring medium and the set also include 6 Spring and Easter themed sentiments.

The Embossing Folder this month was called Wicker Basket (it looks EXACTLY like wicker!) that’s perfect for Spring or Easter themed cards because it adds that flower basket or Easter basket vibe to your backgrounds.

For my card (pictured at the top of this post) I embossed a piece of kraft cardstock with the Wicker Basket Embossing Folder. I stamped and colored one of the bunnies and the cutest little chick with my alcohol markers and layered them with a lavender and green tag on top of the embossed background. I also used a previous Spellbinders die set, Be Bold Blooms Etched Dies, to add a few florals. I used the February Glimmer foil kit to foil my sentiment, “Blossom into happiness this Spring” using my Lavender Petal foil. Finally I finished by adding a few Color Essentials Gems in the color Prism AB to add a little bling.
As always it was a joy to use this month’s club kits and think they will make beautiful additions to my cardmaking stash.
Check back next month to see what fun we will have with the March club kits.
See you soon!
