Bibi’s Snowflakes Collection by Bibi Cameron for Spellbinders
Another of today’s holiday releases in the Spellbinders shop is another collection from Bibi Cameron called Bibi’s Snowflakes Collection. There are 7 items in this set including a pop up card builder, a glimmer plate and die set, a snowflake ornament stencil set, a sentiment and die set as well as several gorgeous snowflake dies.
Today I’m using the Delicate Snowflakes Etched Dies and the Pierced Mini Labels Etched Dies on my projects. This Delicate Snowflake die set makes four layered snowflakes and includes leaves and florals that can be layered on top of the individual snowflakes.
I made two cards using this set. Though I like them both quite a bit, the first is my favorite because of the sparkle!
For this card, I started by creating the embossed background using the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder. It makes such a beautiful embossed background design. Next I cut one of the smaller snowflake dies two times from both Gold and Silver Pop-Up Die Cutting Glitter Foam Sheets. These pop up glitter foam sheets are one of my favorite new items to use for die cutting. The foam cuts so perfectly!
I glued these down to the coordinating shadow dies and placed them on the card. I used the off cuts from where the silver die cuts were hanging over the edge to place around the edges to give a more continuing pattern look.
Next I cut two of the Pierced Mini Labels Etched Dies, one in white and another in Mirror Gold Cardstock. I stamped Merry Christmas (from the July Stamp and Die set of the month) using gold ink and then layered the white label on top of the gold, allowing the gold to peek out.
For even more sparkle, I added Gems from the Opal Color Essentials Gems set to the centers of the snowflakes on the embossed background as well as a few scattered throughout.
For my second card I chose some pattern paper from my stash (by Paige Evans I believe) and used Postage Edge dies to cut two pieces of card stock and layered one on top of the other. (These aren’t even winter themed papers but you can tell! Shhh!)
I cut three of the four Delicate Snowflakes dies and shadows from Color Essentials Cardstock in the colors of Teal Topaz \ White, Raindrop / Glacier, and Pink Sand / White. I layered these together and added them directly to the card base.
When I received my sample products, I received the Snowflake Wishes Sentiment Dies but I didn’t received the stamp set that coordinates. They do actually come together so you’ll receive both. There are options for “Sending”, “Believe” and “Wishing” and the stamp set includes so many great options for stamping sentiments that coordinate with these onto the attached banner. These are great because they can be used year round, not just for winter/the holidays. (I found a stamp that fit from a previous Spellbinders stamp set and used Christmas Cheer for mine.)
As usual, I used my favorite final touch for card making and that’s adding Color Essentials Gems in Prism AB. I added them to the centers of my snowflakes as well as scattered throughout.
