The Cat Card
This is one of those dies that makes me glad to be a part of the Spellbinders monthly kit subscription. I currently get the Large die, Small die, Glimmer and Card kit each month.
In December, they released this die and I really love it.
I think, depending on how you use it, it is so versatile and can be both sympathetic, thankful or cheerful and hopeful. (If only there’d been a puppy. sigh.)
So far I’ve made two cards using this die and they feel very different – one bright and sunny, the other more somber.
This is my first card. I made this one to familiarize myself with the die. The dark colors and night sky give it a sad but hopeful feel. I like how the damask paper looks like wallpaper. I put stickles on the stars and moon and some of it MAY have gotten smeared.
This second one was going to be my first video on my youtube channel. I recorded the entire process and then realized that I wasn’t in the shot the ENTIRE TIME. It’s funny now. At the time I wasn’t amused. 🙂
I made it with the intention of giving it to my friend Sharon. She’s recently developed a love of succulent plants and that’s what the little plant dies included in the kit reminded me of. I also am pretty sure she has a cat so I thought the combination of the two would make a perfect card for her.
This die also comes with three sentiments that I did not use on these cards. They say, Wish Upon A Star, Happy Together (you can make two cats and intertwine their tails, and Dream Big. The window itself is such a versatile die and I’m hoping to be able to play with it more soon.
Thanks for stopping by! Talk soon.
